CITRUS-COCONUT SUGAR SCRUB RECIPE

CITRUS-COCONUT SUGAR SCRUB RECIPE

After the last few sun-soaked months, when the mornings of beach side fun quickly transformed into full days of pleasure/torture under the ball of fire (time has a different dimension when you’re having fun by the water) – our skin is most likely to feel the urge of a little pampering. And what better way to make it feel loved than with a homemade sugar scrub that has the power to cleanse of the dead skin, restoring its natural glow.

I’ve scoured Pinterest – my go-to when it comes to homemade beauty – for some of the most appealing sugar scrub recipes and after a few hours of inspiration in beauty DIY, I came up with a personal favorite – citrus – coconut sugar scrub recipe, which I hope you’ll find as appealing as I am.

What I used:

2 TBS Coconut Oil: Prevents dryness and flakiness of the skin, keeping it moisturised and supple

2 cups of Sugar: Naturally inhibits bacterial growth. Plus its rough texture helps slough off dead skin cells

3 Limes: The citric acid present in lime peels sloughs off dead skin cells, improving its health and appearance.

2 Lemons: Lemons are rich in vitamin C – great antioxidant for neutralizing free radicals – and citric acid so, they can help brighten and lighten your skin. The citrus fruit can make your skin more sensitive to UV rays, so don’t forget to wear SPF when using lemons.

1/2 cup grated Coconut: Its antioxidant property slows down the ageing process by protecting the body from harmful free radicals.
