GARDEN OF MY DREAMS

GARDEN OF MY DREAMS

With the sun shining brightly in the sky and the nature inviting us to enjoy its beauty, I feel like spending most of my days outdoors, drinking my morning tea in a spacious garden, with my bare feet on the grass, surrounded by exquisitely colored flowers and shady trees. Unfortunately, since I live in a one-balcony apartment, this plan of mine is pretty far from becoming reality – still, not willing to give up the benefits of an outdoor area, I decided to transform my patio into a chic little garden, where I can enjoy tranquility of the nature in the heart of the city. In need of some deco inspiration, I browsed the web for tips and tricks, to make the most out of a small balcony. I’ll share with you my best findings, along with some amazing “garden in the balcony” pictures. Enjoy!

1. Choose colorful furniture – vivid hued furniture brightens up the space, making it more fun for entertaining

2. Asides the aesthetic feature, flower pots are a great intimacy provider – fill your balcony with as many flowers possible and the eyes of the curious won’t be able to pass them

3. Add a small rug – feel comfy without sacrificing design by adding a small, colorful rug that will keep your feet warm even during the chilly summer nights

4. If you are into more relaxed settings and the space allows you, place a hammock in your balcony – this way you’ll get that lazy-day-at-the-beach feel without having to leave your own house

5. Pillows are always fun, so you either use them as a furniture replacement or keep them as décor, you can be sure some colorful cushions will add some serious style points to your patio

6. Add a barbecue – who doesn’t enjoy a well-made barbecue? Find a small one, in a unique color, which can be used as a design element when you don’t feel like eating some burgers

7. A candel lamp will add a big dose of romance to your garden-in-balcony, making it the perfect ally for a special summer evening

8. A magazine display rack will prove its utility every morning, when next your coffee you will have all of your fave reads, making you feel better than in a coffee shop

9. If you’re into minimalist settings, then try painting your balcony white, using the same color for the furniture – if too much white hurts your eyes, then add a pop of color with a furniture object in a vivid hue

10. Sometimes a balcony is just too small for any furniture at all – then you can just use the space as a flower heaven, placing a small table inside, just near the balcony doors – the garden-feel will be just as intense
