OFF WE GO

OFF WE GO

Summer is synonymous with vacations – preferable long ones, in jet setting destinations, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city we’re all so tired of. Of course, because nothing is just as easy as it seems, in order to enjoy that exotic vacation we’ve been planning for the whole year, we have to survive a never-ending series of obstacles, starting with packing, the annoying hours of waiting in the airports, an exhausting flight and worst of all, those dramatic moments before landing when we desperately try to hide those puffy eyes and fix the messy hair just to look decent enough to get out of the plane without feeling like hiding our heads in a paper bag. Experiencing this feeling more than a pile of times and decided to never live it again, I searched for the best beauty tips that have the power to change our in-flight beauty experience from messy to glamorous in a matter of minutes.

Cleanse your skin – even when you’re not wearing make-up, use the make-up remover tissues as a an in-flight face and neck cleaning and refreshing option – my favorites are Neutrogena and Estee Lauder

Cucumber eye pads – fight against puffy eyes by applying pre-moistened cucumber eye pads on your eyes for a few minutes, during the flight

Moisturize all the way – using a moisturize with hyaluronic acid in composition is essential for a long flight; before applying it on your face use a cool, wet cloth to path onto the skin. It will revitalize your complexion and it will accelerate the absorption of the cream

Make-up corrector sticks are the best way to hide those dark circles that make you look like you haven’t sleep for weeks even though in reality it’s been only one night

Use waterproof mascara – using stay-in-place mascara will help you define and darken your eyelashes without getting that unwanted raccoon eyes effect

Use a dry shampoo – a dry shampoo will help you combat the oily scalp and provide extra volume to your hair

Use a hair scarf – if you want to tie your hair, avoid using the elastic hair tie as it will damage your hair during the long hours of flight – try using instead a hair scarf, that will provide a Riviera inspired dose of elegance

Use some big sunnies – this trick works all the time, just put on some big black sunnies and your look will upgrade from tired-passenger to glamorous-traveler without any effort at all
