HOW TO WAKE UP LOOKING GORGEOUS

We all know the importance of a good night sleep – at least 8 hours/night can work wonders for our skin. Still, asides the aforementioned there are other methods that, if applied regularly, are supposed to help us get that gorgeous morning look we only see in movies. If you want to start your days with perfect curls and cherry-hued lips, with soft-as-silk hands and a clear complexion, here are a few easy rules that could help any of us look beautiful the moment we get out of bed.

CLEAN YOUR FACE BEFORE BED

Wash your face rigorously before going to bed – you might neglect this step if you wait till you’re sleepy, so it’s better to do it a few hours before your bedtime. This way, you’ll make sure to get rid of the toxins and dirt, allowing your face to breathe and absorb the night cream more easily. If however you’re too sleepy to rigorously wash your face, use a few cleansing wipes to get the job done.

MOISTURIZE

After cleaning your face, moisturizing is the next in order of importance – apply a rich hydrating formula as there’s no better time to fight wrinkles and to keep the new ones at bay. If you crave for a natural glow the moment you wake up, add a drop of self-tanner in your evening formula.

APPLY COLD EYE CREAM

Cold eye cream is said to work miracles for the eye area, so make sure to store it in the fridge before using it, for best results. If you constantly deal with dark circles, apply 2 brewed green tea bags – refrigerate them for 10 minutes before adding on your eyes – keeping them on your lids for 15 minutes every night; rinse, then apply eye cream.

USE A NATURAL ANTI-ACNE TREATMENT

Nothing compares to natural beauty products and when it comes to anti-acne treatments there’s a wide range of recipes you can try out – my go-to is aloe vera gel, as it hydrates the skin while successfully fighting bacteria, leaving the complexion perfectly clear in the morning.

LENGHTEN YOUR LASHES

With the help of a clean mascara wound, apply castor oil on your lashes every night before sleep. It will help their regeneration process, promoting their healthy grow.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU EAT BEFORE BED

If you don’t want to wake up with puffy eyes and cheeks, stay out of carbs –they apparently favor the puffy appearance – opting for a high-protein dinner instead.

SLEEP ON A SILK PILLOWCASE

To reduce the morning hair frizz, it’s best to sleep on a silk pillowcase. It’s also great for preventing the sleep creases on your face – no more wrinkles from now on, right?

SLEEP ON YOUR BACK

As difficult as it would be at first, sleeping on your back is what makes the difference between a “beauty sleep” and “sleep”. Lying on the stomach puts unwanted pressure on your face, causing permanent sleep wrinkles, while sleeping on your back helps you wake up gorgeous and without any crease on your face.

WAKE UP WITH PERFECT CURLS

There are many easy-to-do tricks to help you wake up with the perfect curls: gather your hair on top of your head, then wrap a silk scarf around the base; or French-braid your hair in the evening, spraying on some of your favorite hairspray – the results would be great in the morning.

KEEP YOUR HANDS AND FEET HYDRATED

Hydrating your hands and feet is essential, especially during the cruel winter months. Use virgin coconut oil for best results – after applying it, put on some gloves and socks. You can remove the gloves after 10 minutes if you feel uncomfortable sleeping with them on. However, the socks are best to remain on while you sleep.
