TROUSER SHAPE: FLARED

TROUSER SHAPE: FLARED

Although the arctic temperatures and the sun’s daily struggles through the murky clouds could easily trick us into thinking otherwise, spring is only a month + a few cashmere coats away from our ice-kissed cheeks. Good news? The best, considering the fact I was already tired to hide behind the layering trend every single day, just to keep my bones away from the glacial cold. Trustful in spring’s promising new beginning, I’m gladly willing to forget about the gray and desolation these last few months brought along, focusing on the explosion of colors and sounds about to brighten up my days in a matter of weeks. To have a slice of the spring’s vibe ahead of times, I turned to some of my go-to online shopping Meccas, currently featuring everything I’ve been lusting for since September, last year.  And because the season we’re about to welcome symbolizes reinvention and new beginnings, I fell for a trend that wasn’t close to my wardrobe in the past: the 70’s. If in the past, dressing like a Woodstock attendee was not an option to consider, this season I totally fell for the hippie vibe of the flare trousers.  True, I noticed them since autumn, when they stole the spotlight at Tom Ford, Gucci or Celine but I completely fell for the trend when I riffled trough a bunch of inspirational pictures featuring the style icons of the ‘70s: Jane Birkin, Bianca Jagger or Ali Mcgraw – who could actually resist their exquisite style? I posted some of my fave pics below, hoping they will persuade even the skinnies devotees to give flares a chance.
