ABSTRACT EXPRESSIONISM AT PROENZA SCHOULER FW 2015
Bandage-tight tops, sliced hemlines, fur coats and fringes were the highlights of Proenza Schouler’s FW 2015 collection, inspired by the work of the expressionist painter Helen Frankenthaler and conceptual artist Robert Morris. Like the collection, the beauty look had its roots in abstract expressionism. Makeup artist Diane Kendal incorporated the leitmotif of the show into the models’ makeup, adding with her fingers black pigment on the inner corner of each of the girls’ eyes, for a unique, rebellious result. Would I try it? I’m probably not bold enough, though I do admire the artistic vibe of this makeup style. The question is: would YOU try it?
