ARM-CANDIES SPOTTED DURING FASHION MONTH

Like any fashion enthusiast, as I tend to describe myself, I love to collect…and I’m not talking about stamps or coins here – not exactly my type – I’m talking about things I can see hanging in my wardrobe, the kind of stuff that fills my heart with excitement, that makes me reconsider grabbing that second slice of pie during lunch –so long, temptation – the kind of stuff that makes my eyes pop whenever I pass by a display window downtown…yeah, you know what I’m talking about, you’ve probably experienced the same feelings more than once…it’s that indescribable joy of adding a new piece of clothing, a new pair of shoes or a statement accessory to THE COLLECTION…the more, the merrier – who cares if that closet is stiffed with ten identical LBDs – identical for an untrained eye maybe…the spaghetti-straps one has nothing to do with the one that’s wide-strapped and features that stunning lace detailing and the merino wool knitted dress is totally different from the wool and silk blend pleated dress…who cares if the hundreds of shoe boxes I’m so proud of, took over the book shelves in the hallway, crowding the books on that large shelf on top – there wasn’t enough space for them on the shoe racks, so what was I supposed to do? I couldn’t just leave them lying around, after all, that’s not a proper way to treat works of art. The arm-candies…my favorite collectibles…in fact, who doesn’t love collecting them? Who cares if I wear the same bag in every day, leaving the others waiting for their turn in the dust bags? One must have a favorite, the others? – well, the others will be treated as pure investments; after all, a bag is as valuable for its owner as a piece of jewelry…sometimes even more valuable when it features the perfect amount of uniqueness that can easily serve as a conversation – starter no matter the place or the moment… In search of such rare gems, to use both as outfit-lifters and as chit-chat topic I turned my attention towards the streets of the four fashion-Meccas, flooding these days with the wow-factor of the style-crowd. What caught my eye? Color bursting arm-candies, embellishments, fringes, the kind of bags that would bring every fashion-forward outfit to new-heights, leaving the audience jaw-dropped.
