MAKEUP MOMENT

MAKEUP MOMENT

When it comes to make-up, I can’t really brag about the techniques I use in my daily rut – this doesn’t mean that I underestimate the importance of a well-done smoky-eye or perfectly contoured red lips, but I prefer taking the easy path and keeping things natural. Actually, there’s no beauty trick I like better than faking flawless skin.

In order to achieve the results I’m dreaming of, I follow a few makeup-artist approved easy steps, which help me look my best in less than 10 minutes. I’m sure you’re already familiar with all of these beauty-miracles, but I’ll share them in the specific order they are applied on my complexion, as a tribute to their amazing benefits.

1. APPLY PRIMER

Each morning, after moisturizing, I spread a little primer on my complexion – it has the effect of filling the fine lines; in this case, less is more so don’t abuse it, the more primer you’ll add the more visible will the wrinkles get.

2. APPLY THE FOUNDATION

When choosing my foundation, I always look for the words invisible or sheer – applying a matte or a luminous one tends to make the skin look either too moist or to dry to be natural. My favorite is ESTEE LAUDER Double Wear , which hits all the right notes– it provides extra coverage while maintaining the lightweight feel.

3. APPLY CONCEALER

I must thank my concealer for being there for me even when my undereye-circles betrayed a night of no sleep or when my cheek’s redness couldn’t be hidden by applying a simple foundation. For best results, try a solid concealer when fighting with dark spots or the redness, turning to the liquid formula when hiding the under eye circles.

4. CONTOUR

When it comes to contouring, there is a fine line between enhancing our features and looking like a part of a bad painting. After reading and watching numerous tutorials, I’ve come to the conclusion that choosing the right products get the job done by half. For a natural, flawless finish, I prefer to contour with cream – it is easier to use and provides a sheer result. However, if you feel better while applying powder, choose a light formula, that doesn’t have a makeup feel.

Next, start applying the shade where in need – suck in the cheeks and shade from the tops of the hollows inward. Stop about an inch from the corner of your mouth, then blend well with your fingers.  For a slim nose, blend two lines of the cream from the start of the brows, down the sides of the bridge with a small brush.

5. POWDER

For the final act, I apply a translucent, light powder on my nose, forehead and cheekbones– or shortly said wherever my face tends to glow more than normal. This way, my flawless makeup lasts longer and I can always refresh it.
