EQUESTRIAN FEAST
Step back tigers, rats and you other animals in the Chinese Zodiac; it’s time for the horse
to take the spotlight this time. Looking ahead to Pre-Fall, it seems that some of our favorite
Design Houses couldn’t agree more.
Yeah, probably by know you’re saying: equestrian is always in style – and you’re probably right
in real life but the high-fashion circles never regarded it as a trend to-look-forward.
That’s just not the case this year – Alexander Wang, Chanel and Altuzarra (not really the names
that slip to your mind when it comes co equestrian fashion-right?!) successfully made
the transition from hyper-literal to avant-garde.

ALEXANDER WANG

CHANEL

ALTUZARRA
The new collections prove the allure of referential equestrian style –through the subtle incorporation
of buttery leather, tweed, tartan and gigantic riding boots into our daily ruts.
It calls for a celebration – in the Year of the Horse our wardrobes are more likely to look like
fashion statements rather than riding jokes.
