MATCHY-MATCHY

MATCHY-MATCHY

Whenever I choose my outfits, I have the tendency to match at least two elements- you’ll always see my shoes in the same hue as my dress or my jacket and the accessories in a matching tone with the rest of the outfit. I don’t say that’s a bad thing but sometimes I wish I was edgier and mix things that have nothing in common with each other. Let’s take for example the fashion insiders: while looking at their pics I get overexcited by the way they manage to blend together different styles and hues coming from opposite directions. I’ve tried it a few times, but I never seemed to feel comfortable with the result. On the other hand, I am particularly happy with myself whenever I wear perfectly matching ensembles.

That’s why, the day I saw the matchy-matchy trend back on the runways I felt a great sense of relief – I finally can wear things from the same color palette all together, without worrying that I would be considered out of fashion. In fact, this trend has brought me a big dose of confidence. As if I would like to brag to the ones who raised an eyebrow whenever seeing a matching ensemble:” I am one of those who saw the potential in this trend while you were busy making fun of it”.

However, I prefer to keep this sweet victory to myself and hope this trend would last forever.

What about you, how do you feel about the matchy-matchy ensembles?
