S/S 2015 CAMPAIGNS

S/S 2015 CAMPAIGNS

“Spring is in the air…Everywhere I look around”…or was it Love? Looking out the window, at the ocean of snow harassing my eyes , I realize no matter what I’d sing Spring is definitely not in the air – the frozen outdoor thermometer is the best to testify that – not around the corner, in fact it’s better to move my thoughts away from it for the next few months. Still, what caused me this confusion? The S/S 2015 campaigns that stroke Instagram with a greater force than any avalanche I could only imagine. Seems like the designers are doing a great job in helping us forget all about the frostbite nipping at our noses, showcasing not only some of the drop-dead gorgeous designs available the season to come but also unexpected collabs that are already starting to stir much of a controversy. I’m not a marketing aficionado but even a second grader would figure it out: controversy = sales, isn’t it? However, I couldn’t help sharing my faves with you.

ALEXANDER WANG

Although not exactly an example of shyness, denim adds bring the meaning of sexy to new heights, with Alexander Wang’s SS’15 campaign. Featuring Anna Ewers, this collection is sure to be on everybody’s lips the months to come.

BALMAIN

The love for the brand + their friendship with the creative director made Kim Kardashian and Kanye West the stars of the new Balmain Menswear advertising campaign. Did I mentioned that it’s called “Army of Lovers”? I wonder where the inspiration came from.

BURBERRY

Naomi Campbell and Jourdan Dunn – two generations of top models teamed up for Burberry’s SS’15 campaign. Photographed by Mario Testino, the campaign is the first one for Naomi Campbell since 2001, when she starred the Burberry ad alongside her bestie, Kate Moss.

CHANEL

Café de Fleure, Saint Germain des Pres and the Seine are a few of the iconic places where Lagerfeld shot Gisele Bundchen for Chanel Spring 2015. The result is as good as expected when dealing with two of the Industry’s most reputed names.

DOLCE & GABBANA

Photographed by Domenico Dolce, the campaign emphasizes the Spanish influence on the Sicilian traditions, mixing representative elements of both of the cultures, for a touch of Mediterranean sensuality.

AGENT PROVOCATEUR

Naomi Campbell’s flawless figure is once again in the spotlight, this time starring Agent Provocateur’s most recent campaign. Shot by Ellen von Unwerth and inspired by the thriller Body Double, the images stand proof that Naomi is more gorgeous and confident than ever.

GIVENCHY

Continuing the tradition of hiring celebrities for his ads, Ricardo Tisci admitted he was literally shocked when Julia Roberts, a real A-Lister accepted to star his new campaign. The star, described as “a perfect match for Givenchy’s code of modernity” went make-up free, wearing a monochrome outfit, next to an orange cone photo, hinting to Givenchy’s timelessness.

MOSCHINO

Shot by Pierpaolo Ferrari, and starred by up-and-coming model Hollie-May Saker and her boyfriend, Matthew Mills, the latest Love Moschino ad is as unique as we’d only expected.

JASON WU

Jason Wu’s latest ad campaign continues the tradition started by the designer in Spring ’13 – the World’s most renowned models slip into his creations and pose in NY’s iconic restaurants. The latest shot took place at the Grand Central Oyster Bar and stars his close friend, supermodel Karlie Kloss. The designer’s great attention to details can be spotted throughout the images.

VERSACE

1995, 2015 and 2015 – this campaign marks Madonna’s third consecutive decade as the face of Versace. Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the images highlight a powerful, confident woman, signature parts of the pop diva’s personality.
