SURVIVAL GUIDE TO PARIS FASHION WEEK

SURVIVAL GUIDE TO PARIS FASHION WEEK

After the Winter Olympics, the only competition left for us to enjoy is Fashion Week. If you survived NY, London and Milan- which means you are most likely a fashion robot wrapped in designer clothes- you’re one step away from winning the marathon in Paris. Knowing the major importance of a good meal, how it can lift ones mood even in the most stressful situations, I checked out the areas close to popular PFW venues and build up a plan based on time availability so that even the most coveted editors would be able to maintain strength till the finish line.

YOU’RE IN FOR: Ten Minutes

Big Fernand: No time to spare for a meal? Head to “Big Fernand” for a quick burger. Taking the classic American burger and giving it the French gourmet treatment, the restaurant is serving mouth-watering burgers offered with a selection of local cheeses and add-ons, making Big Fernand’s a Parisian staple.

YOU’RE IN FOR: 30 Minutes

Café Constant: Christian Constant knows about the quest for perfection, having chased after Michelin stars for most of his career before devoting himself to simpler cooking. Maybe that’s why this small two-level bistro, one of four restaurants he owns in the same street, gets all the ingredients right, from the vintage décor with a zinc bar in the front to the menu that often reads like grand-mère’s scribbled notebook.

YOU’RE IN FOR A DRINK

Merci: The cult favorite of fashion editors from New York and London, Merci is a tiny cafe with a giant advantage—they’re one of the only places in Paris that makes fresh-squeezed green juices. The cafe is attached to a smart, bright boutique with an in-house line of affordable clothing and accessories, plus stashes of fantastic art books and albums.

THE NIGHT IS YOURS

Congrats, you survived a day of shows! If you’re in for some gourmet cuisine, head to French Restaurant Akrame. Created by the infamous Chef Akrame Bellal, known for his world-class cooking and elegant presentation, this venue will dazzle your eyes as long as your taste buds!
