WINTER WHITE

– What are you wearing tonight? On the invitation was written “Black Tie Event”

– I’m thinking of donning that ivory-hued silk gown I got in Valencia this autumn.

– Don’t you have other options? It will get trashed in the mud puddles till we get to the party.

– We’ll get there by car. Plus, I don’t have another gown.

– Light hues and pastels are for summer.

– Then I’m not going.

Days after overhearing this conversation while waiting for my tea in a local coffee shop, I can’t help but wondering what’s with all this anti-light colors campaign during the cold season? Of course, while wearing an all-white outfit can become a totally impractical business in winter, the sea of light-hued pieces flooding the shops even when the temperatures barely reach -5 degrees maximums, thought me into mixing white separates with other more weather-appropriate pieces present in my wardrobe. My mind flying towards a “queen of snow”-effect, I selected few of my white-hued favorites, that have the power to bright-up those gloomy winter days. Enjoy!
