FRUIT INFUSED WATER RECIPES FOR SUMMER
Few days ago, while carefully inspecting every inch of my complexion in front of the mirror inside my dressing room- you never know when an uninvited guest like a tiny (*cough* giant) wrinkle decides to pay you a visit, becoming a full-time resident of your face, even if you’re still in your twenties – I almost didn’t recognize the one who was staring at me from the other side of the mirror: her complexion was dry and flacky, nothing like radiant, healthy-looking appearance I was used to. Ok, maybe the 2-3 hours I was planning to spend by the sea in the mornings turned into full days (nothing compares with a cold bath around noon); maybe the 8 glasses of water I was drinking on a daily basis turned into 2 cocktails + 2 glasses of water…it’s the little details who make the big picture. Aiming to regain the softness of my skin and fretting about how to maintain it for a long time, I turned to the oldest method I knew: drinking lots of water – no cocktail included this time. To add some “yummy” into the 8 to 10 glasses of water I planned to drink on a daily basis, I infused it with different fruits, creating 3 delicious recipes, set to wash out the toxins from my system, cleaning up my body and complexion. Keeping hydrated and radiant during the exhausting summer months – that’s the goal!
STRAWBERRY-MINT FRUIT INFUSED WATER RECIPE
-2 cups fresh sliced strawberries, ½ cup fresh mint leaves, water
– muddle the mint leaves, add the sliced strawberries and water
CITRUS-KIWI FRUIT INFUSED WATER RECIPE
-1 orange, 2 kiwi, ½ cup lemon juice, 1 sprig mint, water
-slice the orange and the kiwis; add the orange juice, the mint and the water
BLUEBERRY-LEMON-MINT FRUIT INFUSED WATER RECIPE
-2 lemons, 4 sprigs mint, 1 cup blueberries, water
-muddle mint, slice the lemons, add the blueberries and water
